TOURNAMENT RECORD: Arkansas ranks ninth among all schools with 39 NCAA tourney wins. The Hogs' resume includes one national championship (1994) and six Final Fours, and their all-time record is 39-25.

RECENT HISTORY: Considering its past, Arkansas' recent history is disappointing. The Razorbacks missed the tournament in 1997, lost in the second round in 1998 and '99 and were ousted in the first round last season by Miami (Fla.). 2000's first-round loss could hardly be considered surprising, however, inasmuch as the Hogs needed to win the SEC Tournament to get in and were only seeded 11th.

The Razorbacks put together a strong run in the mid-'90s in which they reached back-to-back national title games in 1994 and 1995, defeating Duke in '94 and losing to UCLA the following year.

The Greatest

You could make an argument for several Arkansas teams.

The 1991 Hogs won 34 games, the most in school history, but missed the Final Four. The 1995 runner-up team and the 1978 Final Four team each won more games than the 1994 team ... but that 31-3 '94 squad won the national championship.

How can you argue with that?
